Pedodonti
What is Pedodontics?
Pedodontics is the dental specialty that oversees the healthy development, monitoring, and treatment of primary (milk) and permanent teeth in children. Primary teeth are not only essential for chewing, but also serve as guides for permanent teeth and natural protectors of jaw development.
The primary goal is to prevent decay through preventive procedures (fluoride, fissure sealants) and to instill oral hygiene habits. Treatments are conducted by a pedodontist (pediatric dentist) with child-centered approaches.
Preventive Care
Teeth aim to gain resistance against decay through fluoride and fissure sealant applications.
Primary Teeth Guidance
Eruption paths for permanent teeth are supported by preserving primary teeth.
Child-Centered Approach
Planned by the pedodontist using methods suitable for child psychology and age.
